GLOGSTER

During the previous lessons we were told to create a Glogster with the topic Making Learning Visible: Assessment and the Home School Connection in The Preschool/Primary English Child-Centered Classroom. Taking into account what we have learnt on this subject, I have created a poster in which I try to explain what I understand about this topic.

First of all, I want to emphasize the importance of communication between the schools and the families, as they are two contexts in which children are educated. Both should exchange comments and show interest and respect for what the other has to say, working together for the education of the children. It would be important to involve families in their child's learning activities at home, practicing together what children have learnt at the school.

I also find important that students learn together, through different materials and resources,  contexts and interactions. They should take advantage of every learning situation and give sense to their learning. What's more, there are plenty of situations and materials to show what oneself is learning, to make it visible, so it would be good to promote them in the classroom. On the Glogster I have wanted to focus on two of the resources that we have used during this subject to show our learning: the scrapbook and the blog. Regarding the blog, I think that it is a good resource to connect the families and the schools, and also to assess the students.

And finally, as I wanted to show something more visual, I have included a video in which a teacher explains to her students her learning of juggling, giving an example to them of how to make learning visible.
