The subject of
"Didàctica de la Llengua Anglesa" is coming to an end. At the
beginning of it, I had some expectations, such as knowing more things related
to the English branch of education, practicing with new activities, improving
my language skills and sharing knowledge and experiences with my peers. In some
way, I think that I have reached them.
When it comes to
knowing more about the English branch of education, I have learnt many new
things. Among them, I have been taught how to plan a lesson to be significant
and assure that children will review former contents, as well as learning and
practicing new ones. Besides, I have learnt about many useful resources and
tools to use on education. And I have also known different strategies to use,
as a teacher, in the classroom.
I wanted to
practice with new activities too. I have had the opportunity to accomplish them
personally, as I had to create the scrapbook and the blog, which have been
making my learning visible. Through the different lessons, I have also learnt a
diversity of routine songs, warm up and wrap activities to include in the
teaching.
As this subject
has been taught in English, I have had many opportunities to hear and practice
the language. I have learnt new words, although I know that there is still a
lot to learn and that this is a continuous working.
The final aspect
that I wanted to accomplish was sharing with my peers what we knew and had
experienced. Fortunately, I have been able to learn from other classmates. But
focusing on the group of work, I have had the chance to work with wonderful
peers. We have collaborated together all the time and I am glad to have learnt
from them.
My experience with this subject has been a huge
learning, as it has been one of my first University experiences related to how
to teach English. I am conscious that, as a teacher, this learning is going to be
continuous, but now at least I am aware of some of the things that go around
the world of teaching English, in order to make it meaningful.
